Reception home learning Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd January 2021
Reception class I have been so impressed with all the work that has gone on, you are all doing so well.
Phonics:
Listen to our phase 3 sounds, listen out for igh, our first trigraph.
Look at this set of igh words . Encourage the children to sound them out and blend them together to read the whole word. e.g s-igh-t, sight
Create your own set of igh words on card or print out the ones above. Put them in a bag or a box. Play some music and when the music stops, your child pulls out a card, sounds it out and blends it together to say the word.

Make a set of number cards 1-10 on scrap cardboard. Ask your child to put them in order from 1-10. Ask your child: what is 1 more than… , they point to the number and find 1 more. If they can do this, take some of the cards away until they can say the number that is 1 more for all the numbers to 10 without any cards at all.
